Job summary

THEKER Robotics, based in Barcelona, is redefining how physical work is done with robotics and AI. We seek an Industrial Design Engineer to design enclosures, housings, and structural parts for our robotic technology, ensuring protection, reliability, and a professional appearance in the field.

You will collaborate with hardware teams—electronics, controls, and mechanical engineering—to take concepts through prototyping to production, selecting materials and processes with cost and volume in

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience designing physical products or enclosures for electronic or industrial systems.
• Strong command of CAD for mechanical design (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo or equivalent).
• Familiarity with 3D design and modeling software.
• Working knowledge of plastics and metals manufacturing methods and design constraints.
• Ability to size and adapt designs to protection, thermal behavior, ergonomics, assembly, and appearance.
• Based in Barcelona or willing to relocate (100% on-site role).

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design of enclosures, housings and structural components for THEKER's robotic products.
• Design in CAD from initial concept through to manufacturing-ready files.
• Select materials and manufacturing processes (injection molding, sheet metal, machining, casting) based on volume, cost and performance needs.
• Adapt each design to functional requirements: protection, thermal management, assembly, serviceability and appearance.
• Take designs from a working prototype to full industrial-scale production.
• Pick up and continue ongoing projects, understanding existing constraints before proposing changes.
• Coordinate with electronics and controls engineers to ensure designs integrate with the housed systems.
• Track manufacturing feasibility and cost throughout the design process, flagging trade-offs early.
