Job summary

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Senior Scientist, AI Safety to join our Data, Data Science & AI organization in Madrid or Barcelona. We operate a hybrid model with three in-office days weekly.

You will define governance for agentic AI using provable controls and continuous adversarial assurance, shaping safety-native architectures for regulated pharmaceutical R&D. This is a hands-on role with technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• PhD in CS/AI/ML or related field is required.
• Post-PhD 1+ year experience in AI/ML, autonomous-agent, or security-critical systems.
• Hands-on expertise in agentic AI, foundation models, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Design deterministic controls governing agent actions, data access and information flow.
• Develop red-teaming methods and adversarial evaluation for continuously tested AI systems.
• Prototype safety-native architectures and alignment research for regulated pharmaceutical use cases.
• Translate safety requirements into scalable controls, assurance, and runtime systems.
