Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Maintenance & Digital Systems Engineer in Madrid to bridge diagnostic solutions with system-level engineering. You will plan, execute, and monitor engineering activities, shaping architectures and coordinating interfaces to maximize system availability and performance for operators worldwide.

The role requires a degree in a relevant engineering field, 2+ years rail signaling experience, and fluency in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• A Degree in Industrial, Telecommunications, Computer, Electronic, Automation, or Railway Engineering (or a comparable technical qualification).
• 2+ years of experience in the Rail Signaling business, underpinned by strong system engineering knowledge.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on requirements management, system architecture, interfaces, and integration.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, with willingness to travel as project needs.
• Hands-on experience with diagnostic or maintenance applications.
• Knowledge of CENELEC standards EN 50126/50128 and configuration management practices.
• Familiarity with IACS/OT cybersecurity and IEC 62443 standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and monitor engineering activities for Maintenance & Digital Systems while proactively managing progress and risks.
• Shape system architectures, configurations, and operational concepts to align with Siemens Mobility portfolio.
• Coordinate critical system interfaces and drive technical alignment across engineering teams, customers, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with R&D to define new maintenance functionalities and innovative system architectures.
• Analyze project requirements, define specifications, and ensure end-to-end traceability across subsystems.
• Configure diagnostic solutions and produce precise technical documentation including version control and design specs.
