Job summary

Keyrus Spain is seeking an AI Governance Lead to translate regulatory requirements into practical governance across the AI lifecycle. The role blends strategic governance with hands-on implementation, guiding client engagements and cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate designs operating models for Responsible AI, defines decision rights and evidence, and leads governance maturity initiatives across Spain and EU projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Law, Risk Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing and implementing AI Governance, Responsible AI, model-risk, technology-risk or comparable governance frameworks in real organisations.
• Evidence of moving governance from policy into operation, through risk classification, intake processes, governance gates, approval workflows, control implementation, human oversight, assurance or remediation.
• Experience working across Business, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Privacy, Security, Data, Architecture, Engineering and Operations stakeholders.
• Availability for monthly travel to Madrid or Lisbon.
• Professional fluency in Spanish and English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design and operationalise AI governance models and operating routines.
• Establish AI intake, inventory and risk-classification processes.
• Translate regulation into actionable controls and evidence requirements.
• Define governance gates across the AI lifecycle.
• Design human-in-command mechanisms and escalation rules.
• Assess governance effectiveness with evidence and audits.
• Govern AI consumption including usage and budget policies.
• Guide architecture and delivery teams to implement controls.
