Job summary

NES Fircroft in Madrid, Spain is seeking a Grid Connections & Utilities Manager to support the delivery of data centre campuses across Spain. This client-side role focuses on power strategy, grid connection planning, and utility engagement for multiple projects.

You will coordinate grid studies, manage relationships with utilities and transmission operators, and lead infrastructure delivery across projects, with hybrid work and travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering or related field.
• Experience delivering grid connection or utility infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of transmission, distribution and substation infrastructure.
• Experience working with utilities, TSOs/DSOs or grid operators.
• Fluent English; Spanish language desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead grid connection and utility infrastructure strategies for hyperscale data centre developments.
• Manage relationships with utility providers and regulatory stakeholders.
• Coordinate grid studies, connection applications and approval processes.
• Support development of substations, transmission infrastructure and external utility networks.
• Review electrical studies and infrastructure designs; coordinate with consultants.
• Support site selection with power availability and utility assessments.
• Coordinate permitting and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work with cross-functional teams across development, engineering and delivery.
• Support power procurement, resilience planning and long-term strategy.
