Job summary

CHS Inc. is seeking a Logistics Specialist to join the Ocean Freight Operations team. The role coordinates vessels schedules, collaborates with terminals and sales, and ensures timely, cost-efficient movement of agricultural products by sea.

Hybrid work arrangement with in-office presence about three days per week, and a focus on safety, compliance, and continuous process improvement across global logistics operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain and/or Procurement.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day logistics activities for transportation of products by vessel end to end.
• Work with terminals, sales staff and other stakeholders on transportation schedules and dispatch loads.
• Calculate and negotiate vessel laytime at loading/discharging ports.
• Monitor vessels and statuses daily to ensure contracts are executed timely and appropriately.
• Collaborate to analyze current transportation operations for process and cost improvements.
• Maintain carrier and broker relationships and build long-term partnerships.
• Monitor carrier/fleet performance and suggest corrective actions to maintain service levels.
• Update transportation websites and maintain databases for contracts, freight rates, etc.
• Record freight related AR/AP and execute payments for accurate financial processing.
• Deliver value by leveraging transportation knowledge to strengthen customer and carrier relations.
• Adhere to global trade compliance rules and promote safety culture.
