Job summary

RemoFirst is seeking an experienced Global Legal Associate, Fintech & Compliance to partner with Product, Engineering and Finance on money movement features, licensing considerations, and regulatory risk management.

You will translate regulatory requirements into clear product terms, draft agreements with banks and providers, and support launches in new markets while maintaining a proactive compliance program.

Qualifications

• Qualified to practise law in at least one jurisdiction.
• 3-5 years of legal experience in payments or fintech.
• Hands-on experience advising product teams on launches.
• Knowledge of PSD2/EMD, AML/CTF requirements.
• Experience with banks or payment providers and negotiating agreements.
• Ability to explain complex rules in plain language.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering on payments, payroll and payout features.
• Assess licensing needs and regulatory licensing flows for money transmission.
• Translate regulatory requirements into practical product requirements.
• Draft and maintain product terms, disclosures, and in-product text.
• Draft, review and negotiate agreements with partner banks and payment providers.
• Conduct legal reviews for launches in new markets and for new features.
• Provide risk-balanced recommendations and compliant alternatives.
