Job summary

Avomind is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This fully remote role focuses on fast-paced SaaS finance, with ownership of close, reconciliations, AP/AR, VAT, and internal controls.

You will drive automation and provide financial insights to support growth across international operations. The position requires at least 3 years of accounting experience, proficiency in German, and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and year-end close activities with journal entries and analyses
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
• Oversee daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing
• Ensure supplier invoices are entered correctly in ERP and paid timely
• Manage vendor communications and cost accruals for monthly P&L reviews
• Review supplier payments, bank transfers, and payment batches
• Reconcile expense reports, corporate cards, invoices, and intercompany transactions
• Maintain internal controls and compliance with policies
• Prepare monthly financial KPIs and management reports
• Prepare monthly VAT returns in line with local requirements
• Support external audits and statutory compliance activities
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and respond to queries
• Perform ad hoc financial analyses and reporting to support decisions
• Analyze performance against budgets/forecasts and identify variances
• Prepare monthly customer churn analysis for reporting

What You'll Do

• Lead monthly and year-end financial close activities, including preparing complex journal entries and supporting accounting analyses.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Oversee daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions, ensuring invoices and credit notes are processed accurately and on time.
• Ensure supplier invoices are entered correctly into the ERP system and issued in a timely manner.
• Manage vendor communications regarding outstanding invoices and maintain ownership of cost accruals for monthly P&L reviews.
• Review and approve supplier payments, bank transfers, and payment batches prepared by Accounts Payable.
• Reconcile employee expense reports, corporate credit cards, invoices, and intercompany transactions.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring financial processes comply with company policies and best practices.
• Prepare and validate monthly financial KPIs and management reports.
• Prepare monthly VAT returns in compliance with local regulatory requirements.
• Support external audits and statutory compliance activities.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors by providing required financial information and responding to queries.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and management reporting to support business decisions.
• Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying key variances and trends.

What We're Looking For

• The role focuses on candidates with experience in fast-paced environments, particularly in AI, automation, and digital process development.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, ideally within a technology or SaaS environment.
• Ability to speak, read, and write German is mandatory.
• Professional accounting or bookkeeping qualification is considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles and financial reporting.
