Job summary

Reboot Monkey is seeking a freelance Data Center Technician to deliver on-demand support to our global data centers. You will install, configure, and maintain servers, networking equipment, and storage, and monitor operations to ensure uptime and security.

Work remotely with remote teams, travel to data centers on short notice, and collaborate with vendors. Requires 3+ years in data center operations, Cisco/Juniper networking, Windows and Linux, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data center operations, with a focus on independent or freelance projects.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in CS/IT is preferred but not required.
• Certifications like Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, or CompTIA Linux+ are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networking equipment, and other hardware to ensure optimal performance and maximum uptime.
• Monitor data center operations remotely and on-site, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues to minimize downtime.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot networking devices (Cisco/Juniper) to ensure secure network operations.
• Manage Linux and Windows-based systems, applying updates and security enhancements.
• Document installations, repairs, maintenance tasks, and system performance for remote management.
• Implement and maintain security protocols to protect data center infrastructure.
• Collaborate with remote IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to drive efficiency and innovation.
