Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a Senior Architect to serve as a fractional CTO across multiple technology businesses. The role demands strategic technical leadership, hands‑on guidance, and coaching across projects with founders, product owners, and engineers.

You will drive architecture, mentor teams, and ensure scalable, secure solutions while aligning with business goals. Fully remote within Europe with flexible hours and possible part‑time arrangements.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software development with leadership or architecture roles
• Expert in C#/.NET or Node.js
• Mastery of React; Angular or Vue is a plus
• Strong DB experience across MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server
• Cloud expertise in Azure and AWS; DevOps knowledge a plus
• Experience with Ionic/React Native; multi‑tech environments
• Familiarity with Python/Java/Kotlin/iOS/Swift/Golang
• Excellent ability to translate business goals into technical strategy
• Strong coaching and mentoring across distributed teams

Responsibilities

• Act as fractional CTO for 2–3 tech businesses, delivering leadership and direction
• Translate founders' priorities into realistic technical strategies
• Review and evolve architecture for scalability, security, and product alignment
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and improve engineering practices
• Lead technical interviews and contribute to hiring/training programs
• Provide hands‑on support on complex technical challenges when needed
• Collaborate with founders, product owners, and delivery teams across projects
• Support in-person founder meetings and cross‑project consulting
