Plug Power in Madrid, Spain, seeks an EMEA Shared Services Associate to support high-volume Accounts Payable processes within the Financial Shared Services team.

The role emphasizes accuracy, customer service, and collaboration with Operations and Purchasing, handling invoices, payments, and vendor inquiries in a timely manner.

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or other relevant field.
• At least 1 year of experience in an accounting, customer service, or detail-oriented role.
• Experience with a large international firm is highly preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsabilidades

• Manage the AP mail and communicate with vendors and internal management as necessary.
• Process received invoices in AP software, code invoices, and route for approval.
• Match invoices against purchase orders and receiving transactions; resolve 3-way match discrepancies.
• Enter payments into banking software and pull supporting documents for weekly payments.
• Reconcile statements with suppliers and ensure accurate payments and credits.
• Maintain strong internal controls compliant with SOX.

Position Summary

The EMEA Shared Services Associate is a critical member of the Financial Shared Services team. This role provides support for process-level transactions in Accounts Payable. The ideal candidate should exhibit exceptional customer service skills, a positive attitude and a strong attention for detail. The Shared Service Associate will interface on a regular basis with other departments including but not limited to Operations and Purchasing. Additionally, the successful candidate is also a service-oriented person who enjoys high volume transactional responsibilities and takes pride in the accuracy and thoroughness of their work. The Associate will also be expected to interact professionally, both internally and externally throughout the business, with customers and vendors of Plug Power.

Core Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage the Accounts Payable mail, communicating with vendors and internal management as necessary
• Process received invoices in AP software, coding invoices, and routing for approval within the pre-established guidelines and policies
• Match received invoices against purchase orders and receiving transactions where needed. Work with the operations team to resolve 3-way match discrepancies
• Pull supporting documents required for weekly payments, entering payments into banking software accurately
• Work with suppliers to reconcile statements of account ensuring payments and credit are accurately applied
• Maintain a strong internal control environment compliant with SOX
• Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships within the organization; engage with cross-functional partners proactively in completion of job responsibilities
• Support ongoing process improvement projects
• Represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or other relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• At least one (1) years of experience in an accounting or customer service or detail-oriented role required
• Experience with a large international firm highly preferred
• Ability to approach all work activities with a customer service focus
• Ability to work across geographies
• Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Uncompromising dedication to quality
• Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
• Fluent English, other European languages are a plus
• Must be driven and self-motivated
