Barsento, at the Madrid Arena project, is seeking a Financial & Accounting Project Controller to oversee full-cycle accounting and project financial control for a major capital investment. The role demands autonomy, rigorous financial governance and cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders.

Based in Madrid with a hybrid working model, the position offers a fixed gross annual salary of €50,000–€65,000, with English proficiency essential for international stakeholder communications.

Formación

• University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related discipline.
• 7–10 years of relevant professional experience in Financial/Project Controllers.
• Experience managing full accounting cycle with high autonomy.
• Experience in financial control of large-scale capital projects (construction, real estate, hospitality, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of Spanish GAAP.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP systems experience.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Strong planning, organizational and judgment abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Manage the full accounting cycle for project entities, including postings, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, fixed assets, taxes and monthly, quarterly and annual closes.
• Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, cash flow statements and supporting financial commentary, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure appropriate accounting treatment of investments, construction certificates, advance payments, retentions, contracts, supplier invoices and capitalisable costs.
• Maintain the construction-in-progress asset register and asset capitalization.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and liaise with tax, legal and accounting advisers.
• Develop multi-year financial plan for the project and its entities, including base, upside and downside scenarios.
• Monitor budgets against actual and committed expenditure with variances and risks.
• Oversee construction and pre-opening CAPEX with OPEX assumptions for future operation.
• Prepare short-, medium- and long-term cash flow forecasts and monitor funding needs.
• Review contracts and financial commitments for proper accounting treatment.
• Develop analyses to support management decisions.
