Job summary

TOMRA Food is seeking a Field Service Engineer to ensure the seamless operation of our sorting systems. The role is based in Spain, with travel across Madrid, Toledo and other regions; it combines hands-on work with independent problem-solving.

Requires 3–5 years in field service or maintenance, strong electronics/PLC knowledge, and fluent Spanish with good English. We offer a hybrid, home-based contract with generous equipment, bonus potential, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Technical education in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
• 3–5 years field service, maintenance or technical customer support.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Good IT skills, networking and PC configuration.
• Fluent Spanish and good English (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Perform field service activities: installation, commissioning, operation, testing, optimization, maintenance, and repair of TOMRA equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues to ensure optimal machine performance and customer satisfaction.
• Carry out mechanical, electrical, electronic, and optical adjustments and configurations.
• Provide customer training on operation and maintenance of TOMRA systems.
• Deliver technical support and advisory services to maximize performance and reduce food waste.
• Prepare service reports and coordinate with internal teams for high-quality customer support.
• Represent TOMRA as an ambassador while working with innovative technology.
• Travel up to 80% within Spain and occasional international travel.
