Job summary

Kult Farm is seeking a highly motivated intern to support scaling of solid-state fermentation for plant-based protein alternatives. You will translate lab protocols into robust pilot-scale processes and contribute to product and process development.

You will work with the R&D team to plan experiments, prepare substrates, monitor parameters, and help with data analysis and documentation in a fast-paced startup environment in Barcelona.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field (Biotechnology, Food Science, Chemical/Bioprocess Eng, Microbiology).
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Strong interest in fermentation and sustainable food systems.

Responsibilities

• Support solid-state fermentation scaling trials from lab to pilot scale.
• Prepare substrates, inocula, and runs following SOPs and GLP.
• Monitor parameters (temperature, humidity, time) and record data.
• Assist with sample handling, downstream processing, and documentation.
• Contribute to data analysis and reporting.
