X-Press Feeders in Barcelona seeks an Operations professional to support vessel planning and cost control, acting as a bridge between Vessel Masters, line management, terminals, and agents. You will focus on optimizing stowage, monitoring consumption, and handling special cargo requests to ensure smooth operations.

The role includes overseeing port costs, SDR coordination, and contributing to business transformation initiatives related to EDI with terminals and customers.

Formación

• Minimum Diploma in Maritime Studies / University graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across departments and stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Able to focus on tasks, analyze systems and problems quickly.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate and follow up Ship Damaged Reports (SDR) to minimize intake loss.
• Support Business Transformation initiatives, including EDI integration with terminals and customers.

Role Summary: To ensure the safe planning and reduction of operating cost of vessels as part of the Operation team, and to provide a professional link between Vessels Master, Line Management, terminals and agents in regard to all operational and capacity matters.

Employment Type: Permanent

Reports to: Functional reporting line to Head of Operations. Matrix reporting line to Hub Management (Director / GM / Deputy GM)

Role and Responsibilities:

You will assist a Line Manager (LM) on the daily operational & commercial aspects, including:

• Maximizing vessel stowage based on CBF declared with minimum shut out / restows due to stowage limitations, with optional crane split to optimise cargo operations and without impeding on vessel safety. Also assist Line Managers on deciding each vessel rotation based on the cargo flows of each service and necessities on the upcoming ports of each voyage.
• Closely following of all consumption parameters for the managed vessels in order to asure a correct analysis of all parameters to asure that vessels are inside the margins, detect overconsumptions and, if necessary, request to apply necessary measures in order to correct them.
• Screen all special cargo (DG, OOG, BB, FLX, FSM, CHA,...) requests and ensure strict compliance with the in-house requirements. Execution of Voyage instructions to new chartered vessels and ensure that operational procedures are followed by the vessel throughout the charter.
• Monitor the tugboats used in each port and the reason in case they are not mandatory by regulation.
• Approval of Adhoc Port / Terminal Costs (D/A).
• Coordinate and follow up Ship Damaged Report (SDR) when applicable to ensure intake loss is minimized.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Support current Business Transformation initiatives as and when required concerning EDI integration with terminals, customers and development of internal procedures relating specifically to areas of expertise.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Maritime Studies / University graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in shipping operation.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues across departments and various internal & external stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Words, Excel, Power Point)
• Ability to focus on tasks and analyses situations, systems, and problems.
• Able to work in fast paced and dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written.
