Job summary

DS Smith Plc seeks a Technology Manager – OCC to lead technical performance and continuous improvement across OCC operations within the Paper division. This European-level role will work across our mills, using data and digital tools to identify opportunities and translate them into practical, sustainable solutions.

You will develop KPIs, manage CAPEX-driven projects and share best practices across the network. Travel across Europe is required to support mills, projects and technical initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of OCC preparation and paper mill processes.
• Experience using data and KPIs to identify performance gaps and improvements.
• Track record of delivering continuous improvement in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Experience with CAPEX projects, supplier engagement, RFQs and investments.

Responsibilities

• Lead OCC performance across the Paper division with mills and OCC specialists.
• Define and track KPIs for OCC performance using digital tools and data.
• Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities in fibre yield, capacity, quality and energy.
• Collaborate with operations to understand processes and implement improvements.
• Support audits and translate opportunities into action plans.
• Develop and implement improvement plans prioritised by impact and feasibility.
• Share best practices across the Paper division and scale successful approaches.
• Provide technical support on major OCC projects from concept to implementation.
• Develop long-term technology and investment plans and robust business cases.
• Identify emerging technologies and evaluate potential solutions for OCC performance.
