Job summary

DS Smith is seeking a Technology Manager – OCC to lead technical performance and continuous improvement across OCC operations within the European paper mill network. You will use data, digitalisation and engineering expertise to identify opportunities and deliver practical, sustainable improvements.

Working remotely from anywhere in Europe, you will partner with mills, project teams and senior stakeholders to shape technology investments, CAPEX plans and long-term strategies for fibre yield,

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of OCC preparation and paper mill processes.
• Experience using operational data and KPIs to drive improvements.
• Proven track record in manufacturing continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the OCC performance agenda across the Paper division and deliver opportunities for improvement.
• Define and track KPIs for OCC performance with digital tools and data.
• Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities across yield, capacity, energy and quality.
• Collaborate with mills to understand processes and implement practical improvements.
• Support PaperPro audits and translate opportunities into action plans.
• Develop and implement improvement plans with prioritised initiatives.
• Share best practice across the Paper division and scale solutions.
• Lead or support CAPEX projects from RFQ to implementation.
• Monitor cash CAPEX expenditure and assist budgeting.
• Travel across Europe to support mills and projects.
