Amazon is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join the AWS European Sovereign Cloud initiative in Madrid. You will help build and lead operations teams delivering high-availability services for EU customers, including EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda and Bedrock.

In this role you’ll collaborate with global teams, drive improvements in availability, latency and efficiency, and participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents outside business hours.

Formación

• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• EU national and residing in the EU to operate the AWS European Sovereign Cloud.
• Experience in systems engineering working with hardware, software, networking.
• Experience scripting in Bash, Python, or Ruby.
• Solid understanding of Linux and networking; able to troubleshoot performance issues.
• Able to create, revise, and improve SOPs and drive operational best practices.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee launch of the European Sovereign Cloud in 2025 and coordinate with global AWS teams.
• Lead and contribute to automation and operations for high-availability services.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations to resolve incidents outside business hours.
• Collaborate with teams to improve availability, latency, performance and efficiency of ESC.
• Develop and test scripts to improve workflows and operational efficiency.
• Educate service teams on ESC complexities and share insights.
