Skydance Animation Madrid is seeking a motivated Environment Surfacing trainee to join our studio on-site for a three-month paid internship. You will learn and contribute by texturing 3D models, painting stylized textures, and creating procedural textures while aligning with the show's visual style.

You will gain exposure to Maya/Houdini, Substance tools, and shading in Arnold/Renderman, with guidance from mentors. This program emphasizes hands-on learning and real-world industry experience.

Formación

• Must have knowledge of Substance Painter and PBR workflows.
• Artistic sensibility and digital painting skills.
• Basic proficiency in Photoshop or similar software for texture editing.
• Must be available for at least 3 months onsite (Mon–Fri, 35h/week).
• Must be currently enrolled in your last year in an Associate, Bachelor, or Master’s program at an accredited institution.

Responsabilidades

• Applies textures and materials to 3D models using Substance Painter.
• Paints stylized textures from concepts following the show’s look.
• Creates procedural textures using Substance Designer.
• Adapts and iterates within various artistic styles while maintaining consistency.
• Creates and modifies shaders for main render engines (Arnold/Renderman).
• Has working knowledge of Substance, Maya and/or Houdini; understands UV mapping.
• Assists other team members and follows tutor guidance.

Responsibilities

• Applies textures and materials to 3D models according to the established style and quality standards, mainly using Substance Painter.
• Paints stylized textures from concepts following the look of the show.
• Creates procedural textures from Substance Designer.
• Has the ability to create, adapt, and iterate within a variety of artistic styles.
• Maintains visual consistency and meets the technical requirements of the pipeline.
• Creates and modifies shaders in the main render engines.
• Has working knowledge of Substance, Maya and/or Houdini.
• Has basic understanding of UV mapping and layout.
• Has basic knowledge of shading in render engines like Arnold and/or Renderman.
• Assists other team members when necessary.
• Follows the tutor guidance.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Substance Painter and PBR workflows.
• Artistic sensibility and digital painting skills.
• Basic proficiency in Photoshop or similar software for texture editing.
• Must be available for at least 3 months onsite (from Monday until Friday, 35h/week).
• Must be currently enrolled in your last year in an Associate, Bachelor, or Master’s program at an accredited institution.
• Self-starter with proficient writing and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
• Highly motivated and interested in Animation and Technology.
• Good team player!
• High English level.
• Spanish desirable.
