Skydance Animation Madrid is seeking a motivated Environment Surfacing trainee for an on-site internship. You will apply textures with Substance Painter, paint stylized textures, and craft shaders to align with the show’s look.

You must be enrolled in the final year of your degree and commit to at least three months, 35 hours per week, onsite. English proficiency is required; Spanish is a plus. This paid internship offers networking and real-world experience in a dynamic studio.

Formación

• Must be enrolled in last year of Associate, Bachelor, or Master’s program at an accredited institution.
• Knowledge of Substance Painter and PBR workflows.
• Artistic sensibility and digital painting skills.
• Basic proficiency in Photoshop or similar software for texture editing.
• Must be available for at least 3 months onsite (Mon–Fri, 35h/week).
• High English level; Spanish desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Applies textures and materials to 3D models using Substance Painter.
• Paints stylized textures from concepts following the show’s look.
• Creates procedural textures with Substance Designer.
• Creates and iterates within various artistic styles while maintaining pipeline standards.
• Develops shaders for main render engines and works with Maya/Houdini.

Skydance Animation Madrid is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Environment Surfacing trainee to join our studio!

This is a paid internship that will be held on-site.

Responsibilities

• Applies textures and materials to 3D models according to the established style and quality standards, mainly using Substance Painter.
• Paints stylized textures from concepts following the look of the show.
• Creates procedural textures from Substance Designer.
• Has the ability to create, adapt, and iterate within a variety of artistic styles.
• Maintains visual consistency and meets the technical requirements of the pipeline.
• Creates and modifies shaders in the main render engines.
• Has working knowledge of Substance, Maya and/or Houdini.
• Has basic understanding of UV mapping and layout.
• Has basic knowledge of shading in render engines like Arnold and/or Renderman.
• Assists other team members when necessary.
• Follows the tutor guidance.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Substance Painter and PBR workflows.
• Artistic sensibility and digital painting skills.
• Basic proficiency in Photoshop or similar software for texture editing.
• Must be available for at least 3 months onsite (from Monday until Friday, 35h/week).
• Must be currently enrolled in your last year in an Associate, Bachelor, or Master’s program at an accredited institution.
• Self-starter with proficient writing and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
• Highly motivated and interested in Animation and Technology.
• Good team player!
• High English level.
• Spanish desirable.
