Job summary

bunch is building the operating infrastructure for private markets, enabling scalable fund operations with secure data and AI-powered workflows. We are hiring an Engineering Manager to scale our product development, strengthen technical foundations, and turn complex problems into reliable solutions for our customers.

Your role focuses on delivering customer value through architecture, delivery, and team development, with an emphasis on sustainable engineering and product excellence as we grow

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience leading engineering teams, with a track record of developing engineers and taking accountability for delivery.
• Collaborative approach, strong work ethic, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Product-focused mindset: you care about understanding customer problems and can partner with Product and Design to turn them into effective technical solutions.
• Strong backend development experience with TypeScript or another strongly typed language.
• Experience with SQL databases and Nest.js or similar web/dependency management frameworks, such as Spring Boot or ASP.NET core.
• Strong understanding of system design principles, scalability, and performance tuning, with sound judgment about architectural trade-offs and technical debt.
• Ability to create structure in a growing organisation while keeping processes pragmatic and focused on outcomes.
• Experience with private markets, fintech, highly regulated industries, or document processing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale secure, reliable infrastructure powering bunch.
• Lead a team with full accountability from discovery to release.
• Strengthen architecture, grow engineers, and establish delivery practices for long-term quality.
• Collaborate with Product Management to shape pragmatic solutions.
• Own capacity management, priorities, and trade-offs for delivery.
• Drive cross-team collaboration to ensure smooth delivery of new features.
• Manage architecture and technical debt, balancing growth readiness with maintainability.
• Develop sustainable engineering practices and clear quality standards.
• Coach engineers through regular feedback and development discussions.
