Job summary

Mistral is building a sovereign AI cloud for Europe. You will lead the Cloud Platform team, owning the isolation layer, architecture decisions, and people management for thousands of sandboxed environments used by AI agents.

You will work closely with Product Managers to translate frontier research into shippable primitives, mentor engineers to grow, and ensure secure, low-latency deployments at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of real people leadership, hiring, coaching, and growing engineers.
• Deep Linux internals: namespaces, cgroups, seccomp, virtualization (Firecracker).
• Shipped production systems in Go.
• Understand network isolation at packet level.
• 8+ years building backend or infrastructure systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Cloud Platform team building the isolation layer of microVMs/containers.
• Balance architecture decisions with people management and coaching.
• Scale fleets to thousands of concurrent environments.
• Collaborate with Product to turn frontier research needs into primitives.
• Own recruitment, performance reviews, and engineer growth.
• Partner with product, design, and business teams to ship enterprise-ready software.
