Job summary

Powens is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the EMI Services squad. You will report to the CPTO and oversee 10 developers, QA, and tech leads, driving delivery and technical performance across Powens’ products.

This role sits in Spain with direct management of the local team and regular collaboration with Europe across an international, fast-moving fintech environment. You will mentor engineers, define goals, and align technical decisions with business objectives while promoting AI

Qualifications

• Solid experience in software development.
• At least 2 years leading engineering teams in fast-paced environments.
• Fluent in Spanish and English; French a plus.
• Mentor and guide team members, fostering collaboration and learning.
• Able to balance development quality and velocity.
• Able to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Engineering Department's vision and organization to meet development goals.
• Manage the development team of product-oriented squads.
• Recruit and onboard new hires, ensure team cohesion and mindset.
• Set goals and KPIs to measure performance and development quality.
• Coach Lead Developers, Developers and QAs.
• Define and run rituals to ensure delivery.
• Maintain link between squads and external stakeholders.
• Understand regulatory and security framework around Powens.
• Challenge technical decisions and guide solutions to meet business objectives.
• Drive AI adoption across the team and measure impact.
