• Registered Spanish nurse with a recognized degree or diploma.
• Current professional registration (Colegiación) in Spain is mandatory.

Job purpose: This role is crucial for providing essential healthcare services to beneficiaries within the framework of IOM's mission. The nurse will conduct initial health assessments, deliver direct nursing care including vital signs monitoring, wound dressing, medication administration, and vaccinations. A key aspect of the role involves identifying and managing individuals with chronic conditions, infections, or specific health needs. The position also supports diagnostic and screening tests, participates in vaccination campaigns, and maintains accurate health records. Furthermore, the nurse will provide health education to beneficiaries, promote awareness on hygiene and disease prevention, and facilitate referrals to specialized medical or psychological services, ensuring comprehensive care and support for vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include conducting initial health assessments to identify beneficiary healthcare needs. Providing direct nursing care such as taking vital signs, wound care, administering medications, and vaccinations. Identifying and monitoring individuals with chronic diseases, injuries, infections, or other specific health requirements. Supporting diagnostic and screening tests, including antigen tests. Assisting in the prevention, detection, and follow-up of communicable diseases like tuberculosis, HIV, and STIs. Participating in vaccination campaigns and maintaining updated records. Delivering health education and participating in awareness activities on hygiene, disease prevention, and sexual health. Identifying cases requiring medical, psychological, or specialized attention and facilitating referrals. Maintaining updated clinical records and databases confidentially, and supporting the management of medical supplies and medications.

Education: A Degree or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution is required. Current professional registration (Colegiación) in Spain is mandatory. Additional training in public health, emergency medicine, tropical medicine, or international cooperation is considered an advantage.

Work experience: A minimum of one year of relevant prior work experience is required. Clinical experience in primary care, community nursing, public health, emergency care, or working with vulnerable populations is advantageous. Experience with migrants, refugees, or asylum seekers is highly valued. Experience in international organizations, public administrations, NGOs, or healthcare institutions is beneficial.

Skills: Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Capacity to work in multicultural and multinational environments. Operational skills and availability for short-notice travel. Knowledge of cultural differences relevant to daily tasks. Ability to identify applicable and non-applicable practices for specific communities. Fluency in Spanish and English is required. Knowledge of French and/or Arabic is an advantage.
