Job summary

Hitachi Energy Spain, S.A.U. is establishing an Operation Center of Excellence in Madrid and seeks a Project Engineering Manager to coordinate engineering activities across disciplines, ensuring cost-effective delivery in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

You will lead planning, budgeting, risk management, and resource coordination throughout the project lifecycle, reporting to the Project Director while contributing to a collaborative,

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
• Experience leading complex projects, preferably within civil engineering, infrastructure, energy, or industrial environments.
• HVDC projects experience and/or PMI/PMP certification is advantageous.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with ability to engage and motivate diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiation, planning, execution, and control of engineering scope for complex projects.
• Coordinate engineering activities, resources, stakeholders, and interfaces across disciplines.
• Maintain a transparent overview of project status and set priorities to maximize progress.
• Balance scope, schedule, cost, and quality to support successful delivery.
• Own the engineering scope within EPC projects.
• Project-wise reporting to a Project Director while belonging to a PM department.
• Foster a culture of safety, integrity, collaboration, and accountability.
