Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY SPAIN, S.A.U. seeks an engineering project leader to drive complex EPC initiatives in civil, infrastructure, or energy sectors.

You will lead initiation, planning, execution, and control of the engineering scope, coordinating resources and interfaces while balancing scope, schedule, cost, and quality. You will report to the Project Director within the project core team, foster safety, accountability, and collaboration, and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
• Experience leading complex projects, preferably in civil engineering, infrastructure, energy, or industrial environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to identify innovative and practical solutions to project challenges.
• Experience with HVDC projects and/or PMI/PMP certification is considered an advantage.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management, with ability to engage, motivate, and support diverse project teams.
• Professional proficiency in English; additional languages are considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the initiation, planning, execution, and control of the engineering scope for complex projects.
• Coordinate engineering activities, resources, stakeholders, and interfaces, while managing competing priorities and resolving conflicts across project disciplines.
• Maintain a clear and transparent overview of project status, making informed decisions and setting priorities that maximize project progress.
• Proactively manage the balance between scope, schedule, cost, and quality to support successful project delivery.
• Take ownership of the engineering scope within EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.
• Project wise reporting to a Project Director (PD) as part of the project core team while at the same time belonging to a department with Project Managers and Project Interface Managers.
• Foster a culture of safety, integrity, collaboration, and accountability by taking ownership of responsibilities while supporting colleagues and contributing to business success.
