Zusammenfassung

ERNI is seeking an Embedded Firmware Architect in Spain to develop and enhance embedded firmware in C and C++, mainly for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers. You will collaborate with electronics and engineering colleagues to translate product requirements into working functionality and to verify correct operation on hardware.

You will help bring up hardware, debug with schematics and measurement tools, and extend firmware with new features while ensuring robust testing and version control.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Software/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional experience developing embedded firmware with strong C skills and practical experience using C++.
• Experience with microcontrollers and bare-metal firmware including peripherals, interrupts and timing constraints.
• Ability to investigate hardware-software issues using a debugger, schematics and measurement equipment.
• Disciplined approach to testing, code review and version control.
• German & English skills to discuss technical problems and collaborate with international colleagues.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M is particularly relevant; if you worked with another MCU family, explain what you developed and how closely you worked with the hardware.

Aufgaben

• Develop firmware for sensor interfaces, instrument functions and communication with connected systems.
• Bringing up and debugging hardware with electronics engineers using schematics, datasheets and lab measurements.
• Extend existing firmware and implement new functionality.
• Build tests that make changes easier to verify and faults easier to reproduce.
• Investigate issues found during development, production or use in the field.
