Job summary

ALBA in Catalonia, Spain, seeks an Electronics Engineer to join the Electronics Section. You will contribute to design, development, commissioning, and support of scientific instrumentation and cabling for accelerators, beamlines, and laboratories.

You will also contribute to power-supply design for accelerator electromagnets and beamlines, and may take on project management roles. The position includes coordination of tenders and supervision of electronics staff.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electronics engineering, Telecommunications engineering or another discipline with proven similar technological capacities.
• Use of oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and ammeters.
• High-precision motion control with stepper motor controllers, servomotor controllers or piezoelectric controllers.
• PCB design with ECAD software such as Altium or KiCad.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design, development, commissioning, and support of scientific instrumentation and cabling for accelerators, beamlines, and laboratories.
• Participate in the design, development, commissioning, and support of power supplies for accelerator electromagnets, beamlines, and laboratories.
• Serve as Project Manager when designated by the Section Head.
• Coordinate administrative and technical processes for public tenders and contracts, including drafting, monitoring, approval, and signing.
• Define, organize, and supervise tasks for electronics technical staff.
• Perform other duties consistent with the responsibilities and scope of the position as assigned by Management.
