Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Madrid is seeking an Electrical Lead Engineer to own the electrical engineering scope of projects within the Grid & Power Quality Solutions unit.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality electrical designs and ensure compliance with local and international standards. The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering and about five years of experience in power systems, with familiarity with Electrical CAD (Zuken E3) and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Around 5 years of experience in Power Systems, power quality, power grid solutions, power transmission (HVDC), substations.
• Extensive knowledge of Electrical CAD systems; Zuken E3 and Engineering Base are a plus.
• Knowledge of calculation tools; ETAP is a benefit.
• Knowledge of relay configuration.
• Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with governance and strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in English is essential for an international work environment; additional languages are valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead Electrical Engineering deliverables in projects, including planning, coordinating and communicating all technical aspects of the electrical scope.
• Deliver electrical design outputs: Electrical Plant Schematic, Control Cubicle Design, Relay Cubicle Design, Station Power design, Cable engineering (< 1 kV) and related equipment.
• Convert customer requirements into safe, cost-effective designs based on base solutions, internal design rules and national regulations.
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineering and with System, Primary Engineering, Studies and Civil Engineering teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing international team and contribute to projects that support the energy transition and a more sustainable future.

As an Electrical Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the electrical engineering scope of projects, ensuring high-quality technical deliverables while coordinating activities across multidisciplinary teams.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Responsible for Electrical Engineering deliverables in projects, including planning, coordinating, and communicating all technical aspects related to the Electrical scope of work within the project.
• Delivering electrical design deliverables in the following areas: Electrical Plant Schematic, Control Cubicle Design, Relay Cubicle Design, Station Power design (after Auxiliary transformer), Cable engineering (< 1 kV), and miscellaneous equipment based on customer specifications.
• Turning customer expectations and requirements into safe, qualitative, and cost-effective designs based on base solutions, internal design rules, and national regulations in the country of delivery.
• Collaborating within Electrical Engineering, as well as with System, Primary Engineering, Studies, and Civil Engineering teams.

Your background

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar work experience.
• Around 5 years of experience in Power Systems, Power quality, Power Grid Solution, Power transmission (HVDC), Substations
• Extensive knowledge of Electric Cad system. Zuken E3 and Engineering Base is a benefit.
• Knowledge of calculation tools. ETAP is a benefit.
• Knowledge of relay configuration.
