EHS Compliance & Permitting Lead for New Plant

Job summary

AESC is expanding in Spain with a new battery gigafactory in Navalmoral de la Mata. We are seeking an experienced Compliance and Permitting Supervisor to own environmental and industrial permits from construction to start of production, ensuring ISO 14001/45001 aligned management.

You will lead permit processes with Junta de Extremadura and local authorities, coordinate documentation with engineering and external consultants, and build a small team as the site grows, contributing to net-zero

Qualifications

• University degree in Environmental Sciences or Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in EHS / environmental compliance with 3+ years in industrial environments.
• Proven experience leading the permitting of a new plant, start-up or major extension with Spanish authorities.
• Strong knowledge of environmental authorisation, wastewater discharge, atmospheric emissions, waste regulations and environmental reporting.
• Spanish native or full professional proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own the plant's environmental permits and roadmap; coordinate authorisations with Engineering, Construction, equipment suppliers and consultants.
• Coordinate the technical documentation for each permit with Engineering, Construction and external stakeholders; ensure installations meet permit conditions.
• Act as main technical contact for Junta de Extremadura, river basin authority, city authorities and fire services; manage meetings and inspections.
• Plan and follow up inspections by accredited bodies and close out findings on time.
• Build and lead a small compliance and permitting team as the plant grows.
