SilverBack is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer for a major international project. You will oversee site-wide electrical, control systems, and instrumentation activities from commissioning to handover.

Strong leadership, extensive knowledge of PLC/DCS/SCADA, and a track record on large industrial or mining projects are required. English and Spanish fluency are mandatory.

Formación

• Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) is mandatory.
• Experience as an E&I Engineer on major industrial/mining/construction projects.
• Strong background in power distribution, control systems, and field instrumentation.
• Degree or professional qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or related discipline.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to oversee and execute site-wide electrical, control systems, and instrumentation installation, loop checking, and system integration activities. This role is critical to leading low/medium voltage power distribution verification, instrument calibration, loop testing, PLC/DCS interfaces, and integrated pre-commissioning activities. Acting as a key interface between Construction, Engineering, QA/QC, and Operations, you will ensure all E&I systems transition safely, efficiently, and on schedule from Mechanical Completion to full operational handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering Leadership & Strategy: Lead, plan, and execute field electrical and instrumentation engineering, instrument calibration, energization, and functional commissioning activities according to safety and schedule milestones.
• Testing & Inspection: Oversee the installation, wiring checks, loop testing, insulation/continuity testing, instrument calibration, and troubleshooting of switchgear, transformers, field devices, control valves, and distribution systems.
• System Integration: Coordinate site testing, PLC/DCS/SCADA package interfaces, functional safety checks, and instrumentation integration alongside vendor representatives and specialist technical teams.
• Punch List & Issue Resolution: Conduct system walkdowns, identify and manage E&I punch items, troubleshoot technical queries, and ensure swift resolution prior to handover.
• Turnover & Documentation: Review and verify complete engineering dossiers, loop sheets, calibration certificates, QA/QC documentation, cable schedules, and redline single-line diagrams (SLDs) and P&IDs for final handover.
• Interdisciplinary Coordination: Maintain continuous collaboration across site management, EHS, construction teams, package leads, vendor representatives, and client personnel.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to site safety protocols, high/low voltage permits to work (PTW), ATEX/Ex compliance, EHS policies, and international electrical/instrumentation quality standards during all installation and testing activities.

Requirements

• Language Skills: Professional fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) is mandatory.
• Experience: Proven experience as an E&I Engineer, Field Electrical/Instrumentation Lead, or Commissioning Specialist on major industrial, mining, energy, or construction projects.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong technical background in power distribution, control systems (PLC/DCS/SCADA), field instrumentation, hazardous area classification (ATEX/IECEx), loop testing, and pre-commissioning practices.
• Qualifications: Degree or professional technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving ability, decision-making skills, and the capacity to coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
