eDreams ODIGEO is seeking a Database Engineer to join our Data Experience (GITOPS) team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis. You will be the bridge between data infrastructure and development, ensuring efficient, secure access to data and driving data-centric solutions across multiple DB platforms.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in critical DB environments, strong PostgreSQL skills, cloud experience (GCP a plus), and familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab, plus automation with Ansible

Formación

• At least 5 years in critical DB environments.
• DataOps mindset and strong problem solving.
• Solid PostgreSQL experience; Oracle/MySQL a plus.
• Cloud solutions experience; Google Cloud preferred.
• CI/CD automation exposure: Jenkins, GitLab.
• Automation tools: Ansible; orchestrators: Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools: GitHub Copilot or similar.
• Good communication with developers and IT teams.

What you will do

The Role's Key Responsibilities and Tasks As an eDOer, you will have clear objectives, great challenges and a clear overview of how your work contributes to the global company project and its customers. As a member of the team, you will be in charge of providing close support to development and architecture teams to build data solutions:Be the link between data infrastructure, architecture and development teamsChoose the best tech to persist application dataDefine the procedures to operate within the database including the creation of the required automations and toolsGuarantee the necessary data resources are assigned for the optimal project developmentEnsure the implemented solution is effective, efficient, consistent, and maintainable from a global data perspectiveMonitor, troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal impact on production systemsOptimise and tune the application access to data. Detection of bottlenecks in data consumptionSupport developers on database access and operation (security, automation, good practices, etc.)Culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing and team collaborationTechnical English

What you need to succeed

Google Cloud Platform will be a plusExposure to the implementation of CI/CD automation tools: Jenkins, GitlabHand-on experience with automation tools (ansible, phyton) and orchestrators (kubernetes)Experience with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude or other AI-powered coding assistantsGood communication skills (constant relationship with developers, IT teams, architects and other stakeholders)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Applied AI Tools: Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI-powered coding assistants.Experimentation Mindset: Curiosity and eagerness to explore, experiment with, and integrate emerging AI-driven solutions into software development workflows.AI-Enhanced Problem Solving: Ability to effectively leverage AI tools to debug code, streamline development processes, and enhance productivity.Adaptability and Learning Agility: Enthusiastic about continuously learning and quickly adapting to new AI features and capabilities.Collaboration with AI: Experience or interest in collaborating closely with AI tools as “pair programmers” to complement traditional software development practices.
