eDreams ODIGEO is seeking a DBA System Engineer to join our Data Experience (GITOPS) team in Barcelona. This hybrid role involves close collaboration with development and architecture teams to build scalable data solutions and ensure robust database operations.

You will define database procedures, automate data workflows, and optimize data access while supporting developers with security and best practices. A strong PostgreSQL background and cloud experience are preferred.

Formación

• Solid PostgreSQL experience and data-focused mindset.
• Experience with CI/CD automation tools like Jenkins and GitLab.
• Hands-on with automation tools (Ansible) and orchestrators (Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of cloud-based solutions, preferably GCP.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good English communication with developers and IT teams.

Responsabilidades

• Be the link between data infrastructure, architecture and development teams.
• Define procedures to operate the database and create automations/tools.
• Ensure data resources are allocated for project development.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve database issues to minimize production impact.
• Tune data access and detect bottlenecks in data consumption.
• Support developers on database access, security, and best practices.

Responsibilities

As an eDOer, you will have clear objectives, great challenges and a clear overview of how your work contributes to the global company project and its customers. As a member of the team, you will be in charge of providing close support to development and architecture teams to build data solutions:

• Be the link between data infrastructure, architecture and development teams
• Choose the best tech to persist application data
• Define the procedures to operate within the database including the creation of the required automations and tools
• Guarantee the necessary data resources are assigned for the optimal project development
• Ensure the implemented solution is effective, efficient, consistent, and maintainable from a global data perspective
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve database‑related issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal impact on production systems
• Optimise and tune the application access to data. Detection of bottlenecks in data consumption
• Support developers on database access and operation (security, automation, good practices, etc.)

Qualifications

• At least 5 years working in critical DB environments
• DataOps mindset
• Solid experience in PostgreSQL
• Other DB technologies will be a plus: Oracle, MySQL
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Experience in Cloud based solutions. Google Cloud Platform will be a plus
• Exposure to the implementation of CI/CD automation tools: Jenkins, Gitlab
• Hand‑on experience with automation tools (ansible, phyton) and orchestrators (kubernetes)
• Experience with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude or other AI‑powered coding assistants
• Good communication skills (constant relationship with developers, IT teams, architects and other stakeholders)
• Culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing and team collaboration
• Technical English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Applied AI Tools: Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI‑powered coding assistants.
• Experimentation Mindset: Curiosity and eagerness to explore, experiment with, and integrate emerging AI‑driven solutions into software development workflows.
• AI‑Enhanced Problem Solving: Ability to effectively leverage AI tools to debug code, streamline development processes, and enhance productivity.
• Adaptability and Learning Agility: Enthusiastic about continuously learning and quickly adapting to new AI features and capabilities.
• Collaboration with AI: Experience or interest in collaborating closely with AI tools as “pair programmers” to complement traditional software development practices.
