eDreams ODIGEO in Madrid or Barcelona is seeking a Java Senior Software Engineer to join the Customer eXperience team in a Hybrid role. You will influence core travel technology, deliver scalable services, and collaborate across squads to improve customer journeys.

Bring strong backend fundamentals, OOP/FP skills, and a passion for learning. Fluency in English, cloud deployments, testing, and mentoring peers are essential for success in this role.

Formación

• Deep understanding of software engineering concepts (OOP, FP, concurrency, data structures, design patterns).
• Experience with full SDLC, production deployments, tests (unit/integration), and Cloud/CI/CD environments.

What you will do

The Role's Key Responsibilities and Tasks As an eDOer, you will have clear objectives, great challenges and a clear overview of how your work contributes to the global company project and its customers. As a Java Senior Software Engineer in the Technology Team you will be in charge of:

• Have meaningful experience being in a Senior Engineer role driving technical work for other engineers. You stay up-to-date on industry trends and understand how to apply them. Provide technical guidance for complex initiatives. Deliver strategic technical improvements.
• Improve code structure and architecture, taking care of testability and maintainability, and identifying opportunities for technical investments to help the team meet the objectives.
• Successfully deliver projects with high complexity, involving multiple stakeholders, including monitoring and mitigating timeline risks.
• Effectively give and receive feedback, including code reviews, and architecture reviews, and mentoring other team members, coaching them to upgrade their skills and grow to the next level.
• Communicate complex ideas to technical and business stakeholders, and establish alignment within the broader organization.
• Constantly looking to expand your skills and skill sets through learning and increasing knowledge.

• Deep understanding of software engineering concepts such as OOP, functional programming, concurrency, data structures, design and architecture patterns, databases, APIs etc.;
• Experience working with the entire software development cycle, including deploying to production and testing (both unit and integration), as well as Cloud and Continuous Delivery environments;
• Strong data-driven capabilities, analytical skills, design pattern skills and creativity that will allow you to solve complex business and customer problems;
• Ambition to be the best and provide resilient, high-performing, well-dimensioned solutions to complex problems;
• Strong focus on quality, and a technical excellence mindset;
• Excellent communication skills and an open mind to reach agreements for the benefit of the team and your stakeholders;
• Ability to visually represent your solutions in standard diagrams that can be shared with both technical and non-technical audience;
• Strong organisational skills. Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate tasks to overcome deadlines in an uncertain environment;

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Applied AI Tools: Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI-powered coding assistants.
• Experimentation Mindset: Curiosity and eagerness to explore, experiment with, and integrate emerging AI-driven solutions into software development workflows.
• AI-Enhanced Problem Solving: Ability to effectively leverage AI tools to debug code, streamline development processes, and enhance productivity.

• Collaboration with AI: Experience or interest in collaborating closely with AI tools as “pair programmers” to complement traditional software development practices.
