This position focuses on accelerating digital transformation in our chemical production activities and sites by leveraging data science and optimization techniques to improve products, processes, and business models, while fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.

Responsibilities

  1. Drive digitalization projects in production activities and sites by applying data science and optimization techniques to enhance products and processes.
  2. Manage projects from planning through execution.
  3. Develop internal data science capabilities, foster external partnerships, and ensure governance through IP, safety, and cost management.
  4. Accelerate the leverage of data to enable automation, decision-making, and new data-powered business models.
  5. Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver data products that solve business challenges, form strategic partnerships, and promote skills development through mentoring and training.
  6. Combine individual contributions in research, engineering, and solution delivery with organization-wide advocacy for data science adoption and impact.
  7. Integrate modern data science tools into existing IT systems and scale solutions.

Business acumen is essential to optimize KPIs and demonstrate value through cost savings or revenue growth.

Requirements

  1. Master's or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computed Sciences, Biotechnology, or related fields.
  2. 3 to 5 years of senior experience in data analysis projects and developing data-driven solutions.
  3. Proficiency in mathematical optimization and advanced statistical techniques.
  4. Strong programming skills (e.g., Python) and experience with relevant data science tools.
  5. Experience implementing machine learning algorithms and predictive analytics, with knowledge of database management.
  6. Advanced English skills, both oral and written.
  7. Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts, persuade, and facilitate collaboration across diverse teams.
  8. Experience in similar roles within the chemical or related industries.
