IKEA Gruppe in Madrid seeks an experienced Data Scientist to develop advanced analytics and AI-powered solutions within cross-functional digital product teams. You will translate business needs into scalable ML models, deploy AI agents and ensure robust, user-focused data products globally.

The role emphasizes collaboration across geographies, agile data practices, and cloud-based development in Azure or GCP, with fluency in English and Spanish.

Formación

• Bachelor's in mathematics, computer engineering, physics, science or equivalent required.
• Master's in data science, ML, big data or advanced analytics preferred.
• Proficient Python and PySpark in Jupyter Lab with SQL expertise.
• Experience with Git, GitHub Copilot and modern development practices.
• 3+ years as a Data Scientist delivering ML models and AI agents.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or GCP) and DevOps practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

What you'll need to have

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Physics, Science, or equivalent. Preferred: Master's degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Big Data, or Advanced Analytics
• Python, PySpark, in Jupyter Lab, Big Query, DataBircks environment.
• Advanced SQL skills for proper data storage and utilization.
• Proficiency with Git, development using GitHub Copilot, and adherence to best development practices.
• More than three years of experience as a Data Scientist, having developed projects involving the implementation of machine learning models and AI agents (based on LLM models and/or computer vision frameworks)
• Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure/GCP), and implementing DevOps practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with curiosity for learning and applying new technologies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and ability to build strong relationships across teams and geographies.
• Proactive, self-organized, and committed to delivering high-quality results.

• Develop and promote advanced analytics frameworks and services that improve business performance as part of cross-functional digital product teams.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions that address real store needs, contributing to the adoption of algorithmic decisions and increasing performance of our digital products and effectiveness of our co-workers by actively educating and encouraging fellow team members to prioritize use cases for analytics and automation.
• Build digital products that are scalable, resilient and robust, ensuring a pleasant customer experience globally.
• Apply and utilize modern software development practices and related technologies, including debugging and version controlling, in order to efficiently deliver flexible digital solutions in close collaboration with others.
• Ensure that solutions fulfill and adapt to actual business needs to continuously generate value for Ingka by working closely together with co-workers from different functions.
• Promote and apply agile ways of working in relation to data science, including rapid prototyping, continuous deployment, and performance measurement.
• Integrate the use of AI to improve processes by developing agents or products based on large language models (LLMs) and computer vision.

Your responsibilities

• Good knowledge of modern applied algorithms (predictive and prescriptive) for extracting insights and making decisions based on data, focused on a Retail environment.
• Good knowledge of data pre-processing techniques, e.g. in relation to missing data points, and good capability to write demanding SQL queries that Extract, Transform and Load data from storage to an appropriate format.
• Experience with development tools and environments such as VS Code, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud computing environments (Azure or GCP) for deploying and managing digital solutions and AI agents.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
