Job summary

Hexagon AB is seeking an experienced Data Platform Specialist to join our Data & Analytics team. You will design, develop and maintain scalable analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, transforming business data into actionable insights.

You will work with data engineers, developers and analytics teams to deliver high-quality data products and reporting, leveraging AI tools and providing clear prompts to accelerate development and productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in BI & Analytics roles.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI development; experience with Microsoft Fabric is a strong advantage.
• Strong experience designing and implementing Data Warehouse solutions.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, star schemas, fact and dimension design.
• Advanced Power BI skills, including: Semantic Models, DAX, Power Query, Performance optimization, Security models and Row-Level Security (RLS)
• Experience with SQL and PySpark for data transformation techniques.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and reporting best practices.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize data pipelines, PySpark notebooks, dataflows, Lakehouses, Warehouses, and Semantic Models within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
• Support enterprise-grade data platforms with scalability, performance, security, and governance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data integration and reporting issues.
• Design and implement robust dimensional and relational data models.
• Develop and maintain enterprise Data Warehouse solutions with medallion architecture.
• Apply best practices for fact and dimension modeling, star schemas, normalization, and denormalization.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and performance across analytical environments.
• Design and develop Power BI semantic models; create DAX measures and business logic.
• Develop dashboards and reports that drive business insights; optimize performance.

This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable analytics solutions that transform business data into actionable insights.

The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with a proactive, problem-solving mindset and excellent communication skills. They will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, developers, and analytics teams to deliver high-quality data products and reporting solutions. The role also requires the ability to effectively leverage AI technologies and provide high-quality prompts and instructions to accelerate development and improve productivity.

Job Responsibilities

• Data Platform Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines, PySpark notebooks, dataflows, Lakehouses, Warehouses, and Semantic Models within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Python, Spark, or other data engineering technologies.
• Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure, or related certifications.
