Data Engineer

Location: Spain (Remote or Hybrid)
Contract Type: Freelance/Autónomo
Rate: €65 to €80 per hour

Overview:
We're hiring a Data Engineer to support an FMCG client with large-scale data pipeline development and optimisation. This role suits someone who has worked on complex data environments and is used to delivering at pace in a business-critical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Build and maintain robust data pipelines using Python and Azure Data Factory

- Extract, transform, and process data directly from SAP systems (eg, SAP ECC, S/4HANA)

- Optimise data flow from SAP modules including finance, supply chain, and sales

- Improve pipeline performance, scalability, and reliability

- Support Data Scientists with production-ready pipelines

- Collaborate with governance teams to ensure data quality, traceability, and documentation

Tech Stack:
- Python
- Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Blob Storage, Azure Functions
- SQL, Git, CI/CD
- SAP ERP (ECC or S/4HANA)

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a freelance/contractor (must be autónomo)
- 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineering role
- Strong hands-on experience working with SAP data
- Solid Azure platform knowledge
- Comfortable working independently and in cross-functional teams
- FMCG experience is a strong advantage
