Job summary

Daikin Europe NV in Madrid is seeking a Corporate Planner to join the IT Development-driven finance team. You will partner with senior leaders to manage regional financial planning and drive sales support across Scandinavia.

You will oversee P&L, budgeting, and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance while coordinating with Finance, Sales, and HQ. A Master’s degree and 3+ years in control roles are expected, with English proficiency and travel up to 1 month annually.

Responsibilities

• Strategic partnering with Managing Director and internal stakeholders (Finance, Sales, HQ, Legal).
• Manage full P&L through variance analysis and action recommendations.
• Prepare HQ reporting and budgets (MMR, ER, Anaplan).
• Reporting to Top-Management with accurate, compliant data.
• Budgeting cycles: Budget, Revised Budget, Forecast.
• Monitor SG&A spending and cost-efficiency initiatives.
• Internal control execution (JSOX) and quarterly self-assessments.

Our IT Center EMEA counts 3 departments: IT Planning (PLAN), IT Development (BUILD) and IT Infrastructure (RUN). Within our IT Development department, we can distinguish 2 competence centres: Madrid and Ostend. You will be part of IT Development in Madrid.

The IT Development department in Madrid consists of 50 people (internal & external) and an offshore team. The group is young and dynamic with a good team spirit and open communication structure. We implement innovative IT solutions for our 7500+ Daikin colleagues all over Europe & Middle East.

Position Overview

We are currently looking for a colleague who will join our office in Madrid, a branch of DENV, as part of the team of sales and corporate planners responsible for the Scandinavia region. The team is partly based locally, and partly in Spain.

Daikin is present in Scandinavia with 4 local entities in Finland, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, responsible for the sales in the region. The team of planners is responsible to support and drive sales in the whole region, in close cooperation with the sales teams, the Managing Directors, and the Top Management of the four countries.

Your r esponsibilities

As a Corporate Planner you will be r esponsible for several processes and you will closely cooperate with multiple stakeholders . You r responsibilities will include :

• Strategic partnering with Managing Director/Management to support business strategy, as well as continuous cooperationwith internal stakeholders (Finance, Sales, HQ, Legal)
• Keeping control of the full P&L of the entities under your responsibility through variance analysis (Actual vs Plan vs Forecast) and recommendation of actions
• Preparation, consolidation and submission of HQ reporting and budgets (MMR, ER, Anaplan)
• Reporting to Top-Management (P&L, Budget, Revised Budget, BOD) ensuring data accuracy, integrity and compliance in all reporting processes
• Budgeting cycles: Budget, Revised Budget, Forecast. Planning, data upload, validation
• Monitoring of SG&A spending and cost efficiency initiatives
• Internal control execution (JSOX controls, quarterly self-assessments, monitoring)

Our requirements

Experience, education and technical skills

• Master degree in Economics, Business or similar.
• 3 years of experience as a controller or in analytical positions (big 4), with exposure to Top Management roles.
• Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a complex, fast- paced and deadline-driven environment .
• Demonstrated flexibility to manage a d hoc requests and strict deadlines.
• Expert knowledge of MS Office, especially in the usage of MS Excel, able to create and maintain reports using complex formulas.
• Knowledge of Finance and Accounting principles is considered an advantage.
• Proficient knowledge of English.
• Flexibility to travel 1/month.
