Are you ready to keep the cloud running at a time of rapid growth? Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services is expanding its data center footprint, and we need a Controls Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the building management system (BMS) and electrical power monitoring system (EPMS) that govern the mechanical and electrical infrastructure of our data centers. You will plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance, manage improvement projects, and collaborate with operations teams to ensure our facilities run safely and reliably.
You start your morning reviewing outstanding maintenance actions and aligning priorities with your facility manager. Much of your time is spent on the data center floor — inspecting equipment, validating controls sequences, and working alongside vendors to commission new systems or resolve open issues. Between site visits you collaborate remotely with design and project teams, reviewing drawings, updating logic programming, and reporting progress to stakeholders. As part of a global on-call rotation, you also stay prepared to provide immediate technical support when the unexpected happens.
Our controls team sits within AWS Infrastructure Services, the organization that designs, builds, and operates all of AWS's global data center infrastructure. We are the people who keep the cloud running – ensuring the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems our customers depend on are always available. The team is growing quickly and playing a central role in delivering reliable infrastructure at scale.
You will work alongside engineers, operations managers, and supply chain specialists in an inclusive culture that encourages bold ideas and continuous learning. You will have real impact on the infrastructure that millions of customers rely on every day.
