Local Financial Controller (SPA Dedicated) — Sungrow Madrid, Spain | Full-time | Renewable Energy
About the role
Sungrow renewable is looking for a dedicated Financial Controller in Madrid to take full ownership of the financial, accounting and tax compliance of one strategic SPA agreement — and nothing else.
This is a 100% dedicated controller role: no scattered cross-business tasks, no diluted priorities. You will be the single owner of contract-aligned financial control, protecting the Group from financial exposure from tax misinterpretation, accounting errors or non-compliant execution of contractual clauses.
What you will do
- Run full-cycle accounting and monthly/quarterly/year-end financial reporting strictly aligned with every clause of the SPA agreement.
- Own Spanish local tax compliance — VAT, corporate income tax and cross-border fiscal rules — eliminating risks of misdeclaration or misinterpretation.
- Monitor all payments, collections, cost allocation and expense reconciliations under the SPA; verify invoices, supporting documents and bank statements.
- Issue dedicated financial performance and risk-alert reports to both China and Spanish headquarters, and drive corrective actions on accounting and tax deviations.
- Liaise directly with Spanish tax authorities, external auditors and local banks on inspections, reconciliations and official inquiries.
- Work side by side with PMO and O&M teams to keep operational data and financial records fully consistent and contractually compliant.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting or Taxation; an official Spanish accounting certification is a strong plus.
- 3+ years of hands-on, end-to-end finance experience in Spain, ideally including financial control of renewable energy projects (solar/photovoltaic) and cross-border commercial agreements (SPA, M&A or asset transfer experience is a plus).
- A hands-on controller profile: you combine solid accounting and tax execution with business-financial analysis and risk control — this is an owner's seat, not a pure analyst or advisory role.
- Proven ability to identify and mitigate high-value financial risks tied to commercial contracts, with the rigor expected of an in-house controller (not only a client-service mindset).
- Fluent Spanish and business English, able to produce bilingual financial reports independently; proficient with ERP systems and financial analysis tools.
- Based in Madrid, with occasional travel to project sites for financial audit support.
- A clearly scoped, high-impact mandate: one strategic agreement, full end-to-end ownership, direct visibility to Group headquarters in China and Spain.
- Be part of the world's leading PV inverter and energy storage company, driving the energy transition in Southern Europe.
- International, multicultural environment with long-term career development.
