• 10+ years experience in project or structured finance or equivalent.
• Track record closing financings with international lenders and investors.
• Strong financial modelling for debt sizing, covenants, and stress testing.
• Experience presenting to Investment Committees.
• Fluent English and Spanish; other languages a plus.

Title: Director, Debt & Structured Finance

Location: Madrid, Spain ( hybrid )

Who are we recruiting for:

Our client is a fast-growing institutional investment platform focused on connecting insurers, pension funds and fixed-income managers with curated debt, bond and equity opportunities across utility-scale solar, wind, storage and self-consumption assets. Backed by a framework agreement with a major European public financial institution and issuing through a dedicated Luxembourg-based vehicle, the business is exceptionally well positioned to continue scaling the bridge between institutional capital and investment-ready renewable energy infrastructure across Iberia and Latin America.

With a growing pipeline of financing mandates and a clear ambition to expand its transaction volume, the platform is now looking to strengthen its structuring capabilities through the appointment of a Director, Debt & Structured Finance, responsible for leading origination, structuring and execution of project and corporate financings end to end.

What will you be doing:

• Originate, structure, negotiate, and close project and corporate financings - construction facilities, refinancings, private placements, and syndicated loans - across solar PV, BESS, and hybrid assets.
• Lead negotiations with international lenders, institutional investors, and legal counsel through to financial close.
• Build and oversee integrated financial models for PV, BESS, and hybrid PV+BESS assets, including debt sizing, DSRA calibration, covenant stress-testing, and multi-scenario sensitivity analysis.
• Structure mezzanine, HoldCo, and multi-tranche capital arrangements, modelling returns across alternative capital structures.
• Prepare investor materials and present financing strategies and recommendations to Investment Committees.
• Own post-closing monitoring - cash forecasts, coverage ratios, waivers, amendments, and refinancings - in coordination with international counsel and lenders.
• Support M&A activity: portfolio acquisitions and disposals, SPV due diligence, and uses & sources design.
• Work closely with origination, investment, and asset management teams to ensure financing strategies support platform-level growth.
• Build and mentor a structuring team as transaction volume scales.

Are you the ideal candidate?

• 5 to 10 years' experience in project or structured finance, with direct origination and execution ownership in renewable energy or broader infrastructure.
• Track record closing financings with international lenders - banks and institutional investors - across multiple markets, ideally spanning Iberia and Latin America.
• Strong financial modelling background: debt structuring, waterfall analysis, covenant testing, and scenario/sensitivity work.
• Experience preparing and presenting to Investment Committees.
• Comfortable leading negotiations end to end, from term sheet through financial close.
• Fluent English and Spanish essential; additional languages advantageous.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Madrid.
