Job summary

Sungrow Madrid, Spain seeks a Local Financial Controller dedicated to a single SPA agreement, owning all financial, accounting and tax compliance. You will ensure strict alignment with contract terms, manage VAT, CIT, and cross-border rules, and report performance and risks to both China and local HQ.

The role demands 3+ years of in-country finance experience, fluency in Spanish and business English, and hands-on accounting leadership to safeguard financial integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting or Taxation; an official Spanish accounting certification is a strong plus.
• 3+ years of hands-on, end-to-end finance experience in Spain, ideally including financial control of renewable energy projects and cross-border agreements (SPA, M&A) is a plus.
• Hands-on controller profile with solid accounting and tax execution, plus business-financial analysis and risk control.
• Proven ability to identify and mitigate high-value financial risks tied to contracts with in-house rigor.
• Fluent Spanish and business English, able to produce bilingual financial reports; proficient with ERP systems and financial analysis tools.
• Based in Madrid, with occasional travel to project sites for financial audit support.
• A clearly scoped, high-impact mandate: one strategic agreement, full end-to-end ownership, direct visibility to Group HQ in China and Spain.

Responsibilities

• Run full-cycle accounting and monthly/quarterly/year-end reporting strictly aligned with SPA clauses.
• Own local tax compliance — VAT, CIT and cross-border rules; mitigate misdeclaration risks.
• Monitor payments, collections, cost allocation and expense reconciliations; verify invoices and bank statements.
• Issue financial performance and risk-alert reports to China and Spain; drive corrective actions on deviations.
• Liaise with Spanish tax authorities, external auditors and local banks on inspections and inquiries.
• Collaborate with PMO and O&M teams to keep data and records contractually compliant.
