Costa Navarino is seeking a Commis, Bakery for W Costa Navarino to join a luxury hospitality team in Messinia. You will contribute to preparing high-quality breads, pastries, and bakery products, learning under senior chefs while ensuring HACCP compliance and top presentation.

Your role supports daily operations, with early shifts and opportunities to grow skills in a multicultural kitchen environment within a premier Costa Navarino property.

Qualifications

• Diploma or qualification in Culinary Arts, Baking or Pastry from a recognised institution is preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in a bakery, hotel or restaurant environment; experience in a luxury hospitality setting will be considered an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients and bakery equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays.
• Good command of the English language; knowledge of Greek or other languages is considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and baking of bread, rolls, pastries and other bakery products, following the guidance of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
• Follow established recipes and production schedules to ensure consistency, quality and timely service.
• Assist with daily mise en place, organization of ingredients and bakery stock, including proper labelling, storage and rotation to maintain freshness and minimise waste.
• Operate bakery equipment, including mixers, ovens and proofing chambers, safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe bakery environment in accordance with HACCP and food safety standards.
• Collaborate with the pastry and kitchen teams to support daily operations and the requirements of guests and events.
• Show curiosity, passion and a willingness to learn, actively developing baking skills and techniques under the guidance of senior bakers and chefs.
