Job summary

Canonical is seeking cloud solutions architects who design private and public cloud solutions using Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, and related technologies. You will deploy, test, and hand over solutions to support teams, and develop Python-based Kubernetes operators.

The role involves hands-on work, architecture presentations, and training with a focus on Linux, cloud-native practices, and open source software. Remote-friendly with opportunities to travel globally.

Qualifications

University degree in Computer Science or related software engineering discipline.
Strong knowledge of cloud computing concepts & technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph.
Practical knowledge of Linux and networking.
Intermediate to Advanced Python programming skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills in English.

Responsibilities

Design private and public cloud solutions for customers, deploying and testing them hands-on.
Develop Kubernetes operators and open source infrastructure-as-code using Python.
Collaborate with engineering and customer teams to transfer solutions to support or managed services.
Coach colleagues and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
Travel globally up to 25% for events and engagements.
