Skydance Animation Madrid is seeking a motivated Character Surfacing trainee for our on-site studio. This paid internship provides hands-on texture creation using Substance Designer, Substance Painter, Maya, and Houdini, with collaboration across the Production team.

You will work 35 hours per week, Mon-Fri, for a minimum of 3 months, and you must be enrolled in your final year of an Associate, Bachelor, or Master’s program. Fluency in English is required; Spanish is a plus.

Formación

• Must be available for at least 3 months onsite (Mon-Fri, 35h/week).
• Currently enrolled in your last year in an Associate, Bachelor, or Master’s program at an accredited institution.
• Strong artistic or/and technical aptitude related to 3D animation is a must.
• Self-starter with proficient writing and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
• Highly motivated and interested in Animation and Technology.
• Good team player!
• High English level. Spanish desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Creates textures using Substance Designer and pre-existing textures.
• Paints stylized textures from concepts following the look of the show.
• Creates procedural textures from Substance Designer, and applies them in Substance Painter, or Houdini.
• Has the ability to create, adapt, and iterate within a variety of artistic styles.
• Works with the Production team, Art Director and Visual Effects Supervisor to create the desired look for characters that may reflect any of a wide variety of styles.
• Assists other team members when necessary.
• Follows the tutor's guidance.
