Skydance Animation Madrid is seeking a motivated Character Surfacing trainee for an on-site internship in Madrid. You will work with the Production team to develop textures for characters using Substance Painter, Maya, and related tools.

This paid internship lasts at least 3 months and offers learning opportunities within a major animation studio, blending creative and technical work for real-world projects. Strong English is required; Spanish is desirable.

Formación

• Strong artistic or/and technical aptitude related to 3D animation.
• Knowledge of Substance Painter, uvWorkflow, Maya.
• Must be enrolled in your last year in an Associate, Bachelor, or Master's program.
• Availability for at least 3 months onsite (Mon–Fri, 35h/week).

Responsabilidades

• Creates textures using Substance Designer and pre-existing textures.
• Paints stylized textures from concepts following the look of the show.
• Creates procedural textures from Substance Designer, and applies them in Substance Painter, or Houdini.
• Has the ability to create, adapt, and iterate within a variety of artistic styles.
• Works with the Production team, Art Director and Visual Effects Supervisor to create the desired look for characters.
• Has strong artistic or/and technical aptitude related to 3D animation is a must.
• Working knowledge of Rizom, Maya, UVLayout, and Houdini.
• Assists other team members when necessary.
• Follows the tutor's guidance.
