Job summary

CAE seeks embedded software engineers to advance mission-critical systems for the CF-18 fighter aircraft. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to system and software design, and engage with operational specialists to deliver enhanced capabilities.

This full-time, hybrid role involves 2–3 days per week in the Mirabel office and occasional Saint-Laurent visits, with a 40-hour week and core hours 9:30AM–3:30PM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, aeronautical, software, computer, or related).
• Up to two years of relevant experience.
• Ability to communicate technical subjects in English or French, verbally and in writing.
• Capable of working with limited supervision and independent learning.
• Strong attention to detail and structured problem solving.
• Willingness to work on defence systems involving military aircraft and armament.
• Eligible for registration in Canada's Controlled Goods Program and Government of Canada Reliability Status/Level II clearance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to projects that enhance the operational effectiveness of the CF-18.
• Develop new functionality and improve mission-computer capabilities (armament, communications, tactics, information processing, HMI).
• Participate in technical investigations and discuss solutions with clients and operational specialists.
• Define and analyze system and software requirements.
• Contribute to design, modelling, programming, integration, testing, debugging and software qualification.
• Collaborate with CF-18 pilots and CAF members.
