Formación

We are seeking to recruit a Category Manager for local categories based in Spain. The role reports to the Head of Procurement Spain, while operating within a global category structure, working closely with the corresponding Global Category Managers to ensure alignment on strategy, tools and standards. The role is focused primarily on leading local category strategy development and execution across Molins Spain's plants and business units. You will be joining a dynamic team with high momentum within the organisation. A key part of the role is the ability to roll up your sleeves and lead from the front in the definition, implementation and optimisation of category strategies at local level.

WHAT WILL YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES BE?

Among other responsibilities, the following stand out:

• Understanding local business needs; Cooperating in setting up specification and tender documents; Supply market analysis; Identifying new potential suppliers and shortlisting for portfolio; Setting strategy implementation action plan; Leading RFI/RFP/RFQ processes; Planning, preparing and executing negotiations; Establishing contracts and updating the ERP system; Participating in continuous supplier performance evaluation; Actively contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems.
• Creating and developing a strategic plan for the development of assigned local categories. Develops, implements and maintains local purchasing and supply management strategies to ensure supply management meets Molins Spain's business requirements, in line with global category guidelines. Ultimately accountable for material and service costs, delivery, sustainability, innovation and quality, and continuous assurance of supply.
• Leads the development and implementation of supply base strategies for assigned local categories, as an integral part of the local business strategy, balancing commercial aspects (volume & price) and technical capabilities to improve cost effectiveness, delivery and quality.
• Responsible for managing the negotiation process for assigned local categories (suppliers), with a focus on total cost of ownership, supporting business profitability targets and the budgeting process.
• Leads local procurement initiatives, supporting plant and business unit level initiatives for cost optimisation, supplier management, and quality and supply performance improvement, in coordination with the global category framework.
• Develops and manages key local supplier relationships to ensure cost, flexibility, quality and delivery objectives are established and achieved for the long term.
• Responsible for the local category business review process with selected suppliers, to develop and nurture key supplier relationships and maintain stable and competitive supply.
• Optimises the local supply base through supplier consolidation. Develops an exit strategy for unsuccessful suppliers and/or products.
• Engages with multiple levels within the organisation, external partners and suppliers to troubleshoot problems, ensure risk mitigation and on-time project implementation.
• Brings new thinking, innovation and best practice to drive value and efficiency across the local sourcing and procurement cycle.

We are looking for a professional who meets the following requirements:

• Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Business, Business Administration/Management, Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
• Proven working experience (>3 years) in Purchasing or Procurement. Knowledge of specific purchasing processes such as strategic planning, sourcing, supplier management, operating process management, measuring purchasing performance, and preparation/execution of effective negotiation strategies (products / raw materials / services). ERP system knowledge (e.g. SAP) is preferential.
• Experience in projects to improve direct/indirect procurement, strategic sourcing, category management and procure-to-pay. Understanding of the full, end-to-end Procurement lifecycle.
• Strong management skills, highly organised, with a demonstrated ability to drive change management and transformation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence and drive change across operational areas and business units.
• Resilient and enthusiastic, responding constructively to new ideas and inputs.
• Sound commercial awareness and business analytical skills, preferably including the use of business intelligence/analytics tools.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) relating to procurement, contract management and vendor management would be advantageous.
• Experience working within an international/matrixed procurement structure — team player, comfortable operating with cross-cultural teams and within a global category framework.
• Fluency in Spanish and English required.
