BME - Bolsas y Mercados Españoles, part of SIX, seeks a Business Information Security Officer in Madrid with up to 40% remote work. You will act as the main security contact for Securities Services, guiding risk-aware decisions and aligning security with business needs.

You will collaborate with IT, risk, and compliance teams to implement SIX standards, maintain regulatory alignment, and promote a pragmatic security approach across the organization.

Formación

• 4 years of professional experience in information security, IT risk, IT, or related field.
• Strong ability to explain security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English and Spanish; German is an advantage but not required.

Responsabilidades

• Act as a key contact for information security topics within the assigned business area.
• Advise and support projects in implementing information security requirements.
• Identify, assess, and handle information security risks affecting the business area.
• Facilitate collaboration between business, IT and security functions for pragmatic security solutions.
• Support regulatory, contractual, and internal security requirements (e.g. data protection).
• Contribute to security awareness and continuous improvement within the SIX BISO community.

Business Information Security Officer

Madrid | Working from home up to 40% | Reference 7942

Information security is a key requirement for the successful and compliant operation of Securities Services. As a Business Information Security Officer (BISO), you act as the main point of contact for information security topics within Securities Services, supporting the appropriate handling of security risks, regulatory obligations, and internal security requirements in line with SIX standards.
In this role, you work closely with business, IT, and security stakeholders to ensure that information security requirements are well understood and applied in a pragmatic and business‑oriented manner. You support initiatives and day‑to‑day activities by providing guidance, facilitating alignment between parties, and contributing to a consistent security approach across the organization.
You will collaborate with central security teams, IT, legal, risk, and compliance functions, and be part of the wider BISO community within SIX.

What You Will Do

• Act as a key contact and advisor for information security topics within the assigned business area, supporting managers and key stakeholders
• Advise and support projects, applications, and initiatives in implementing information security requirements in line with SIX standards and best practices
• Contribute to the identification, assessment, and handling of information security risks affecting the business area
• Facilitate effective collaboration between business, IT, and security functions to ensure pragmatic and proportionate security solutions
• Support the interpretation and application of regulatory, contractual, and internal security requirements (e.g. data protection, industry standards)
• Contribute to security awareness, reporting, and continuous improvement activities, and actively participate in the SIX BISO community

What You Bring

• 4 years of professional experience in information security, IT risk, IT, or a related field. Relevant training or certification in information security will be a plus
• Good understanding of information security principles, risk management, and control concepts with ability to understand technical security topics and communicate them clearly to non‑technical stakeholders
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to financial services is an advantage
• Structured and solution‑oriented working style, with attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a pragmatic and service‑oriented mindset and ability to manage multiple topics in parallel and work effectively with a range of stakeholders
• Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken) German is an advantage but not mandatory
